Situated among the mountains of northern Italy, the revitalization project gives new modes of access and utilization for an area that was once used for heavy industrial manufacturing. The reorganization of the urban elements erects a new spine to the layout of the lower valley with a particular focus on the quality of public spaces. The integration of a middle-sized commercial complex aims to revive the historic commercial character of the city, while the creation of the “Piazza Est” public crossing point gives a new urban node for orientation and local exchange.
