Combining residential, commercial and office functions at Hamburg’s prime HafenCity location, the project divides into two separate volumes that share a glazed ground floor of separate entrance lobbies for the offices and the apartments. The sharp look of the tall residential volume with large sheets of sandstone arranged in an irregular pattern contrasts with the dark reddish clinker of the office building’s horizontal facade. The discord is broken by the shared bronze tone of the glazing and the windows.
